これは完全に空中戦ですよ。「日本を愛する」っていう言葉の使い方について争っているだけのような気がするんです。だからそういう論争を政治的だと言うのも嫌だなという感じなんです。
佐々木: 本来、政治的という言葉の意味そのものをもう少し考え直さなくてはいけない。
実は私にもそんな体験があります。昔、新聞記者をやっていたときに、毎日新聞だったんでいわゆる左翼系なんですよ(笑)。市民運動の取材をやたらとやらされた。
駆け出しの頃は岐阜支局にいて長良川河口堰問題、河口堰反対とかね。これだけなら単なるエコの話なんだけど、集会に行くと、死刑廃止とか原発反対とか全部 ワンセットになっている。そこに行くと「なんであなたは河口堰に反対なのに死刑は賛成なんだ」って、すごく怒られたりした(笑)。
東: 分かります(笑)。
佐々木: 田舎は特にそうですが、運動やっている人すごく少ないから、どんな運動に行っても同じ人がいる。これ、金太郎飴現象って言ってたんですけど(笑)。すべて人脈的に繋がらなきゃいけないっていうね。
運動体と自分の持っているいろんなイシューに対する考え方は、すべて全人格的にイコールでなきゃいけないという圧力が非常に強くて、不思議な世界だなって思ったことがあるんですけど。
